From Audio Cassettes to Account Theft: Patch Notes of an Old Gamer
I still remember waiting 15 minutes for a game to load from a cassette, only for it to crash with a screech that sounded like dial-up having a stroke. Now I wait 150 GB for a “day one patch” so the tutorial doesn’t softlock. Progress, I guess. #gamedev
Best exploit I ever abused: duping items by yanking the LAN cable mid-save. Felt like wizard-level netcode mastery. Devs called it a bug, I called it “emergent gameplay” and early QA work, unpaid of course.
These days the only real exploit is finding 2 free hours between work, kids, and anti-cheat false positives. Gamer’s life. #indiedev
